Creating a Mindfulness Space in the Library

Help me give my students tools they need to begin practice of Mindfulness. The goal is to create a safe space for students to self regulate their feelings and emotions.

My Project

Middle schoolers tend to be full of big emotions. I would like to create a safe space for students to come to and decompress when they need to. Creating a Mindfulness corner (area) is going to provide students a way to escape and take a minute to themselves.

In the Mindfulness area I will provide preferred lighting, aromatherapy, fidgets, coloring, reading materials, etc to help students refocus and center themselves before moving back into the classroom.

I think this area will be beneficial to students to have a space that makes them feel space and loved. It will also gives teachers another tool to use when they need to redirect students.
