Help me give my students a mindfulness center with a kids chair, headphones, and essential oils to support self regulation, independence and their social emotional development.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are so excited to create this special space for our students in our classroom. Creating a safe space for our young students will support their development and build a positive classroom community.
We will develop mindfulness in our classroom with the support of diverse calming materials.
The materials will help to calm multiple senses to promote productivity, independence and the awareness of self and others.
The mindfulness area will be supplied with a comfortable couch for quiet activities, a room diffuser for relaxation, sensory materials, a listening station with soothing music and a basket of books. This center will be open for students to relax, reset and reflect to get their minds ready for learning!
