Creating A Creative, Comfortable Space For Library Learners

Help me give my students a comfortable library learning space to be creative, inquisitive, inventive and READ :) by providing floor seating, a tiered bookcase for diversified reading materials and class supplies! Thank you for your kind consideration!

My Project

I love our dynamic, diversified student population! As an inner city, Title 1 school, we strive to provide our candidates with a strong skill set that will lead them into their successful futures. Our 4 cornerstones are Academic Excellence, Character Development, Leadership and Physical Development.

As a military-based middle school, we encourage our candidates’ lifetime success by instilling the importance of these values.

We stress self-respect, respect for others, resilience, persistence, honesty and the pursuit of knowledge in their educational journey. Our middle school candidates progress into our high school, where all students are NJROTC cadets. We have many success stories!

I love helping our candidates realize their potential! As the School Library Media Specialist, I try to provide a welcoming, warm learning environment in our library media center. We only have 2 bean bags, so having the additional floor seating would provide more flexible, comfortable seating for our candidates. We do not ask our candidates to bring supplies to school, so the pencils and markers would be helpful, as we try to engage our candidates in a variety of creative ways to present their research findings. Presently, we have limited shelving and storage space for magazines, graphic novels and comics. The tiered bookcase would be very useful!

It is my goal to equip our library media center with comfortable seating options, storage for a variety of in-print materials and classroom supplies that will help our candidates express their imaginations and creativity! Thank you for your kind consideration!
