Reading, reading, and more reading. Our students LOVE to read. We have stocked our library shelves with books and now we want to create a classroom environment that is organized and comfortable, supporting this love of reading throughout the school year.
Our students are inquisitive, hardworking, and compassionate.
We are in a very diverse community in Washington, D.C that focuses on showing empathy, learning about the world, and challenging ourselves to be our best. We love to learn through reading and exploration.
My Project
The materials we have requested will support our love of learning and discovery. The individual seat sacks will be placed behind each child's chair. While 3rd graders may be the "big kids" in elementary school, they are not necessarily the most organized. Seat Sacks will allow for our students to have easy access to their reading materials and reading journals. With the introduction of these materials, our desks will be cleaner and our transitions will be more efficient. Less transition time = more time to read and learn!
The upholstered sofa and chair will be a perfect asset to our classroom library, creating an environment even more conducive to quiet reading. We will create a schedule so that all students will have ample time to sit on the special seats. It will make reading more fun and our classroom more of a home. Plus, these pieces of furniture are PVC-free and meet all of the fire code requirements.
As previously mentioned, the seat sacks and library furniture will further support all students' excitement to read and learn.
Our students deserve the very best learning environment - organized, cozy, and inspirational. We want our classroom to be a place they are excited to visit each and every day.
