My Project

Our school is incredibly fortunate to partner with a local church that sponsors a weekly family night for the families at our school. As part of family night, this group provides clubs for our students and classes and activities for their families. One class that is provided for parents is an English as a Second Language class.

We would like to provide bags of picture books in Spanish and English for the parents taking English as a Second Language to borrow.

Each week parents in this class can borrow a different bag of books that they will then exchange the following week. This will provide opportunities for parents to read excellent books and engage with the stories in both languages. Our students and their siblings (most of whom are our future students) will be able to enjoy these books with their families.

This is a chance for our school to help build a literacy rich environment for our students and future students with an extension of our existing library.
