My Students

I am blessed to teach 36 highly motivated, eager learners. They are like sponges and thrive on soaking up new information every opportunity they get. Many of them are not exposed to quality literature and technology outside of school which limits their knowledge and hinders their ability to grow as lifelong readers. It is my goal to create lovers of reading and writing through a warm, friendly, engaging classroom environment.

My Project

The use of flexible seating in the classroom will create a comfortable, collaborative learning environment that will support my learners with flexibility towards their needs and preferences.

By allowing my students to choose something as simple as seating, I will foster a more authentic learning environment.

Through this seating, I will be able to increase student engagement. The simple power of choice builds community within the classroom while promoting accountability.

Flexible seating meets the needs of all learners while creating a student-centered, fluid workspace that everyone can enjoy and feel welcome.
