My Students
This year is my second year teaching, and I have been blessed with an incredible group of students. Working as a Resource Teacher, I see a wide variety of children throughout my day ranging from kindergarteners to 8th graders. Each and every one of my students are unique in their interests, abilities, and needs. As the year moves forward, we will continue to work on our weaknesses and celebrate our successes! Of the 12 students I work with, not one of them lacks an extra helping of quirkiness partnered with an intense desire to succeed.
We come from a very rural area, living in a town of less than 1,500 and attending a school with less than 200.
This can present challenges, but it can also be a blessing. Although we don't have access to the same resources as those from big cities, we make up for it with a family-like atmosphere and a supportive environment. All of the staff at Montague Elementary truly aim to give these students a valuable and memorable educational experience. Please help us achieve our goal!
My Project
Many students come to school expected to leave their personal struggles and worries at the door so they can learn. Is this fair?
Students need a space where they can feel safe and comfortable to get the proper help they need so they can be successful students and citizens.
That is what I aim to create. Montague Elementary has a wonderful on-site counselor that works well with our students to help them feel safe and heard. However, she does not have a counseling office that reflects her warm and welcoming nature. With this project, I hope to have materials donated that will help to provide our counselor and students a place that they can go at school where they feel comfortable, welcome, and relaxed.
