This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This will be my first year teaching struggling readers. Providing a comfortable rug and bean bag chairs will create a welcoming, flexible space where my students can feel safe, calm, and focused. Many of them struggle with attention, anxiety, or academic challenges, and traditional desks don’t always meet their needs. This cozy area will give them the option to read, work, or take a short break in a setting that supports emotional regulation and concentration. When students feel physically and emotionally comfortable, they are more likely to engage, participate, and believe in their ability to succeed.
