Creating a Comfortable and Safe Learning Environment

Help me give my students a calm-down corner that helps them cope with their emotions.

My Project

My students have been directly impacted by Covid-19 with the lack of in-person learning. My students have been affected not only academically, but socially too. Many of my students lack social skills and the ability to demonstrate the right emotions.

I would like to create a calm-down corner in my room.

This space will include a cozy flexible seat, a calm-down bear, and fidget toys that will help them calm down and get in touch with their emotions. I have also requested social-emotional books to help teach my students about how to cope with their emotions.

The last items I have requested are hands-on learning sensory bins. These sensory bins will also help students who have a hard time with their fine motor skills and being able to express their creativity.
