My Students

I am going into my FIRST year as a teacher and I get the opportunity to serve 22 incredible 3rd graders. At our school, students show excellence in every way and excel every day!

It was a challenge to set up my classroom, especially keeping COVID safety guidelines in mind but I found some amazing materials/books/furniture that will support these capable students' learning and cultivate a love for learning.

In addition, these materials will continue to support my future classes so this gift will keep giving!

My Project

These materials will serve a range of functions in our classroom community! The furniture will give students alternative seating options to honor different physical needs as well as create a calm-down corner for students' emotional needs. The books will grow our classroom library in a way that reflects the identities of our community. The games will help to build a stronger classroom community so that students feel safe to learn and grow with their peers! And the remainder of the tools will be used to support my facilitation of learning.

These materials are just the beginning of creating a shared space where all my students feel safer and like they belong.

This is a necessary step that will contribute to their social-emotional success, which has a direct impact on their academic success in our classroom and in the world.
