Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am writing to request your support in transforming my classroom into a more serene learning environment. By creating a dedicated calming corner, I aim to provide my students with a tranquil space to regulate their emotions and improve focus.

By investing in this calming corner, we can create a more positive and productive learning environment for all my students.

So far, I've included a lava lamp, a small fish tank, jigsaw puzzles, and coloring pages. With your help, I can add even more effective tools recommended by our school's psychiatric social worker. These include comfortable seating, sensory toys, and chair bands.

The chair bands will provide a tactile sensation that can help students ground themselves and improve concentration. The sensory toys, paired with a timer, will offer a structured way for students to self-regulate and return to their work.
