Creating a Calm Learning Environment

Help me give my students supplies to create a calm learning environment that they will love!

My Project

I have worked very hard to create a strong classroom community! My second graders have shown so much love for the sensory items in my classroom as well as love for my fun nature decor.

Incorporating sensory elements can greatly enhance the classroom's calming effect.

Soft, tactile materials like plush pillows or textured wall coverings can create a soothing tactile experience. I have already included Aromatherapy diffusers with calming scents like eucalyptus which can be utilized to promote relaxation. I am looking to increase the Zen in my classroom by adding different types of lighting to create a more calming environment. I believe these floating candles (for my Harry Potter loving students) and lighting screens will help achieve a more inviting space for learning!

I have the honor of teaching students who are high achieving. These students are learning a a grade level above their own! They hold themselves to a high standard, as we all do and sometimes that can be a lot of pressure for little ones. I promote Social Emotional learning just as much as I do with academics! I know these items will help my students feel calm and confident when completing their work!
