This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, I watch my students come to school with so much energy and curiosity, but I also see the moments when they struggle—whether it’s focusing during a lesson, managing big feelings, or simply needing a quiet space to regroup. This project is about meeting those needs in small but meaningful ways.

I’m hoping to bring in tools that will help my students stay engaged and feel comfortable in their learning environment.

Some students need sensory supports to help calm their bodies and minds so they can focus. Others need hands-on materials to really "see" and "feel" math concepts come to life. Simple things like a cozy seat to curl up with a book, or fidgets to ease anxiety during independent work, can make a huge difference in their day.

Staying organized and making learning visible and accessible is also so important. Having spots to display student work, anchor charts, and learning tools will help my students take ownership of their learning and feel proud of their progress.

These materials may seem small on their own, but together they will help create a classroom space that feels safe, welcoming, and full of opportunities to grow. Thank you for considering helping us bring this vision to life. It means more than words can say.
