This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials in our "Creating a Calm Corner" project will provide a soft, soothing and peaceful area in our PreK classroom. The artificial tree will create a lush & natural feeling to our calm corner. The students can sit under the tree to read a book, hug a pillow or play with a sensory toy. The sequined weighted pillow will give students comforting support and a tactile toy to help them relax and reset in our calm corner.

The noise cancelling earmuffs will help overwhelmed students quiet the classroom noise and relax their minds. The gel beaded emotion friends and mindful breathing board will be fun and soothing sensory toys in our calm and quiet corner. And finally, the breathing exercise cards will promote mindfulness activities, social emotional learning activities and calming activities for our students in our calm corner and during their school days.
