Creating a Biome Jar

Help me give my students Scented Markers, Fiddle Sticks Scented Markers, Alphabet Pasting Pieces to create a Biome Jar inspired from the climate and environment.

My Project

I love that when my students see me in the hallway, they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also ask what project they will be doing next and can't wait to come to my art class. My students are special because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts. They are enthusiastic learners. Because of COVID, I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors which help bring happiness. I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies which help bring calm, joy, and relaxation to my students.

I have requested Alphabet Pasting Pieces, Scented Markers, and Fiddle Sticks Scented Markers, so students can create different biomes of the world which is a great environment and climate project.

They will create a symmetrical jar that will display an animal, landscape, and details from their chosen biome. The students will make it colorful with the materials requested and give it a title with the alphabet pieces.

My students will learn a biome is a group of plants and animals

that have characteristics in common based on the environment and climate that they live in. Some biomes are large areas, others are small. There are many different sub-categories of biomes, but the basic categories are desert, tundra, rainforest, ocean, grassland, and forest.

Learning about biomes is important so students can help with positive changes in the environment.
