This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

By the end of the school year my goal is to have more students on grade level. With more than 80% of my students below grade level in math, it is very difficult to teach 7th grade math skills without the previous skills. This is a challenge.

I currently teach mathematics to about 90 7th graders!

My students are energetic, hard working, loving and caring individuals. Many of my students do not have a great home life, and when they come to school they still struggle a whole lot. In the past few years I have seen a big difference in my students, since the school is becoming more of a community with loving adults they can trust. But being in a small poverty driven neighborhood, my students are not exposed to the technology of our changing world!

My Project

You may ask yourself how will these iPads be used in the classroom? Your first thought might be to play games, but that is where you are wrong. Technology has been changing everyday, and the use for it in a classroom to help enhance the material being taught is amazing. I want my students to be able to experience this as well. With the iPads in the classroom there are many different activities that can be done. Small group instruction with an application can be taught. Google drive and other google applications can be used by the students to communicate with the teacher. Other apps such as Notability, Edmodo, blogging, applications for graphing, applications with different manipulative's, creating digital books, and the ShowMe app. There is an unlimited amount of activities that students will be able to do with the use of iPads in class.

This project will not only make a difference to the current 90 students I teach but also all of the students I teach in the years to come.

By having this technology to incorporate into my classroom, students will be more engaged in what they are learning and my students will be about to take their learning to a whole new level, involving a whole global universe.
