My Students

My students have a passion in their hearts for discovery and learning. Each day is a new adventure and a new learning experience for all of my first grade students. I love seeing their faces light up as they share their new discoveries with me. Being their teacher brings me so much joy!

My students learn through hands-on experiences.

In my classroom, we are always on the go. Student use computer games to help them with math and reading. We work with sixth grade students to help develop reading and social skills. We work in small groups to deepen understanding of tricky concepts and we work in a whole group setting every single day.

The students in my class come from a variety of backgrounds. Some students in my classroom speak two languages and each of my students has a unique family and cultural background. Several of my students struggle with playing with one another and making friends. Not only do I spend time teaching our core curriculum this year, but I also teach my wonderful class to love and accept these differences that make us each unique.

My Project

Creation is an important part of learning. Art is a powerful tool to help students retain the information they have learned. Help me provide my students with painting materials so that we may tie science, language arts, and math to art.

Creativity feeds the soul and builds the mind.

One of my favorite things to do with my students is paint. When we are painting, whether it is a character from a book we have read or the life cycle of a butterfly, they are able to unwind and relax while showing me what they have learned in a fun and simple way.

My students will be able to spend more time learning through creativity with these materials. Help provide us with paint, paper, a drying rack, and a few other materials to give my students an opportunity to integrate art with the other things the are learning in school.
