Create Statistics Spirit in Harlem!

My students need motivation to rock the AP Statistics Exam which is next month! The project seeks to get class T-shirts that the kids can wear to the test! They also need almonds for energy.

My Students

My students are awesome! They have been working hard - after school, on weekends and during school breaks - to bridge their knowledge gaps and ramp up for the Advanced Placement Statistics exam on May 13th 2015. At this point, they have taken several mock exam and hope to earn college credit.

My students inspire me every day.

All minorities and virtually all eligible for free lunch, they don't let anything get them down. They are survivors. Despite lacking some of the prerequisite quantitative skills, they are striving to earn a college-credit worthy score on the AP Statistics exam. We bridge the gap in knowledge during supplemental classes after school, on weekends and during official school breaks. My students believe that their zip code or skin color should not be an impediment. They have huge dreams and tons of energy to back them up.

My Project

The class t-shirts are intended to acknowledge the significant work that my students have put forth in this class this year. They can proudly wear them to school -- especially on test day - May 13th, 2015. The front will bear the official school logo. The back with read a motivational message and a statistics joke. I've also requested some almonds for energy on test day.

These kids are amazing.

They work hard. They all plan to graduate from college - the first in their respective families to do so. They deserve a visual reward for all their efforts this year that they can proudly wear to school. Although only two of these students were listed on the College Board list of "AP Ready" students based on PSAT scores, they ALL plan to succeed. I believe in them. They have astounding drive and willpower. They deserve this vote of confidence in their ability.
