Create Meaningful Sensory and Fine Motor Experiences for Occupational Therapy
Help me give my students unique materials in order to improve their sensory processing and fine motor/visual skills. Materials will be provided to children with various disabilities in an Occupational Therapy room to promote independence and learning.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love my students because they are unique learners who bring a smile to the room regardless of the difficulties this school year.
I am an occupational therapist that provides meaningful sensory and fine motor learning opportunities for students with special needs, grades K-5.
My students are eager learners who seek sensory input and learn best through multi sensory approaches such as visual, tactile and auditory learning.
My Project
With these unique materials, my students will be able to improve their sensory and fine motor needs in order to be independent students.
Pencil grips, therapeutic putty, grip strengtheners and sensory sand will help provide students with opportunities to improve their pencil grasp, hand strength, endurance and dexterity for fine motor tasks.
The sensory kit will be used to create calm down kits for students who need help with sensory regulation. Slant boards will help provide ergonomic wrist support for children with low tone and fine motor delays. Thank you.
