This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As the new 2016-2017 school year begins, I am enthusiastic to help inspire my students to develop further. My students' enthusiasm, creativity, and voice in their work has taught me a lot and it is my pleasure to foster this in my new group. They have excellent ideas and can work to guide their own education and projects if allowed the opportunity.
I want to inspire and encourage my 4th grade magnet students to further develop confidence in all they do; in written and spoken word, in growing and strengthening their work ethic, as well as in developing a healthy and active lifestyle.
We are a learning community within a Title 1 school in a low-income area. Our school is on a free breakfast and lunch program. Students are willing and able to step up with confidence, to challenges, despite their own.
My Project
I want my students to study the techniques of real artists of the world. These materials will allow them to create a palette book creating samples of artwork in their own artistic perspective. Students will not only create work like an artist, but learn about the life and inspirations behind the artists' creations.
"I can paint like Monet, design like Mondrian, explore the beauty of the small like O'Keefe", this is what I hope my students will learn to express with confidence.
A well rounded student is knowledgeable and exposed to a variety of talents. Learning to appreciate art by studying artists and learning some of their techniques will develop this understanding, providing a stronger academic background.
