My Students
My students are bright, motivated learners in a Midwestern urban environment. These young people are curious about the world around them and specifically look at education from a global standpoint. As an educator, I work tirelessly to provide my charges with the kinds of learning experiences that will enrich their lives and turn them into lifelong learners.
Students in my classroom tackle projects and classwork collaboratively while also taking time to deepen their individual knowledge about the world of English language arts.
My Project
Working with low-level readers in a high-need school has unique challenges; chief among them is finding books that truly get students excited about reading. My students are bright, motivated, and need the right kinds of books to continue on their journey to being life long learners. Graphic novels are the perfect way for our reluctant readers to get swept up in the exciting world of reading. By giving young people the opportunity to experience different genres and mediums of literature, they will receive the opportunity to open their minds to new ideas. These graphic novel collections are a step in that direction!
