Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bursting with imagination, and now it's time to give them the tools to bring their stories to life! Through this project, I want to turn our classroom into a vibrant comic book studio where students can write, illustrate, and publish their own original comic books.

Using engaging materials like Create Your Own Comic Books, Posca pastels, Crayola Twistables, Super Tips markers, and artist-grade paint pens, students will learn to express emotions, develop characters, and tell meaningful stories.

With paper roll dispensers and easels, they’ll draft layouts, while colorful pencils and pens help them refine their ideas.

This hands-on project integrates art, literacy, and creativity. Students will develop fine motor skills, build narrative structure, and strengthen their confidence as storytellers. Storage bins and classroom supplies like scissors, washable paint, and pencils will keep materials organized and accessible for all.

Our ultimate goal is for each student to walk away holding a self-made comic book—a work they’re proud of, a story that’s theirs. Your support will turn our class into a place of artistic discovery and creative joy.
