Create an Inviting Library

My students need 3 beanbags and a sofa to make a cozy inviting library with child-sized furniture.

This project is fully funded

I teach a Headstart preschool classroom and work with children with diverse backgrounds and diverse needs. I co-teach with a special education preschool classroom so our students spend a lot of time with each other. All of the students love the library and enjoy sharing books with friends.

The problem is that many students have sensory integration issues, and they need furniture that is child-sized and comfortable. It gives them an opportunity to self soothe and connect with a book. I bought a rocking chair from a flea market and that chair always had a student in it reading a book. The chair was so old it broke in two weeks, and all the kids miss that chair.

Please gift us with three beanbag chairs and a sofa, so that we can create an inviting library and show children how they can calm their minds and bodies through reading and relaxing.

Your help will encourage my students to not only read, but enjoy it and savor it as a relaxing and calming activity. It will also encourage them to share a book with their friends, making reading a social activity.
