My Project
My students come from various countries around the world, mostly Spanish-speaking. They are in my classes to learn and develop their English language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). In addition to improving their language skills, I hope to help my students understand American culture and acculturate without diminishing or replacing their own cultures.
We need your help to make our classroom welcoming and learner-friendly!
We had very few supplies and/or furniture at the start of the year. I brought in items from home and donations from family and friends, but we could still use a few more things to make our classroom an organized, comfortable, welcoming learning space.
We need a rolling whiteboard to hang our large sticky pads in order to create anchor charts that students will use as a reference while working throughout the year. Additionally, we're requesting a few books with short stories for language learners. And, we could use a pencil sharpener so we will no longer have to use the small hand-held ones. Lastly, we need a few things to decorate our classroom, like command strips, bulletin board paper and borders, and laminator sheets so we can preserve decorations and work from year to year.
