This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In multimedia mediums, what you hear is often as important, if not more important, than what you hear. I have been trying to instill this in my students but it can be difficult when the only speakers in my classroom are the tiny ones built into the television.
This project would provide students with a greatly improved auditory experience .
They will learn the importance of sound in mediums such as film and electronic gaming. These surround sound speakers will allow me to demonstrate concepts including multiple audio channels, sound mixing, and 3-dimensional sound design. They will learn how to use sound to create tension and tell a story. The Switch console will help them discover how programmers use audio cues to enhance the player experience. It will also help demonstrate how to produce broadcast coverage of competitive gaming (esports).
