This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in our school have been learning social studies through inquiry using primary sources from the past which have given them access to view the world and US history through multiple lenses. This has allowed for them to become more engaged in learning since coming back to campus full time.
The books on the list will not only diversify our classroom library but will also contribute to their learning by expanding the histories they have already encountered in their lessons.
Not just that but by adding multiple different perspectives in the class our students will also be able to identify with what they are learning because representation matters!
