This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our classroom, I aim to create an inclusive environment where all students can thrive. My students come from diverse backgrounds and face various challenges including sensory processing issues. They are resilient, create, and eager to learn, but often need additional support to navigate the classroom environment.
Many of my students struggle with sensory overload, which makes it difficult for them to concentrate and engage in class activities.
The noise-canceling headphones will help minimize distractions, allowing them to focus better during lessons and independent work. The sensory tent will serve as a calming retreat for students who feel overwhelmed. It offers a safe space where they can take breaks, practice self-regulation, and return to their learning environment refreshed.
By equipping them with these tools, these resources will support their learning and help them succeed emotionally, while also fostering their love for learning. With your support, we can make a significant impact on their educational journey.
