This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a speech therapist in a Title 1 school, we face the unique challenge of teaching students with diverse abilities and needs, especially when it comes to speech therapy. In recent years, technological advancements have opened up innovative avenues for enhancing the learning experience of these students. One of these tools is the Cricut machine.

The Cricut machine can be a game-changer for speech students in Title 1 schools, and one of the primary benefits of using a Cricut machine in speech therapy is its ability to create customized visual aids and materials.

Speech students often require visual support to grasp concepts and improve communication skills. With a Cricut machine, we can design and produce colorful, tactile, and visually appealing materials tailored to individual student needs. Whether it's flashcards with enlarged fonts, tactile labels for objects, or interactive communication boards, the possibilities are endless. These personalized materials can make speech therapy more engaging and effective, especially for students with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders.

We will also utilize the Circuit Maker as a creative outlet for our students to design and create their own projects. For example, students can create class designs for their notebooks to promote our classroom community or design decals to be hung on classroom windows as an extension to a writing prompt. Students could also bring their fabulous artwork to life!
