Help me give my students Chromebooks for a better opportunity to learn. They all have different needs and the computers will allow me to differentiate their learning and make it more hands on.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach grades kindergarten through fifth grade, Reading and Writing. All of the amazing students in my class have a learning disability, such as autism, language impairment, ADHD, and dyslexia to name a few. My students are energetic, thoughtful, and inquisitive learners! Living in Miami, they all come from different cultural and socio economic backgrounds.
I feel all my students have the capabilities to learn, but that it takes motivation and the belief that someone understands and believes in them.
Bridging the social and emotional gap, as well the academic gap is extremely important, especially now in the days of COVID. Creating a classroom that is engaging and hands on is crucial.
My Project
These computers will allow me to help differentiate and meet the needs of all my students. They will make learning fun for the students and keep them engaged. They will be able to work on reading skills at their own level, to help them build their self-esteem and close their learning gap. They will also be able to research and create/publish their writing. Not to mention, it will allow them to move ahead in the world, as technology is an intricate part of our everyday lives, setting them up for the future.
