This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have great students; they're funny, inquisitive, and at times challenging. Some of my students have learning disabilities, autism, or have been diagnosed with ADHD. Even though many of my students have access to phones or iPads at home, many don't have access to computers or chrome books. Many of my students need explicit support in learning to type essays. It would be wonderful to have access tools-such as chrome books- in order to meet each student at their learning level.
My students need access to technology in the classroom.
They need to learn basic computer skills to enhance their academic learning. In order for them to be academically successful, they need to tech savvy.
My Project
My students need to learn basic computer skills. They will need these skills their whole educational career. Becoming computer literate is essential as a 21st century student. Learning these skills have to begin at a young age.
Learning to navigate the keyboard is an essential skill.
My goal is to teach students to become faster when they are typing. Many of my students use their right and left hand pointer fingers to type. A lot of their time is used looking for the letter on the keyboard. As you can imagine, when they have to type their essay, it can take a long time to type their thoughts and ideas.
