Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have no supplies left in our school! Our principal recently revealed that somehow our school has not only run out of supply money, but that we will be in the red into next year. Since our budget is to be cut even farther, I am not hopeful that will we have any needed kindergarten supplies.

My class of 23 diverse, urban kindergarten students live below the poverty line and are predominately English language learners who have not attended preschool.

It is my job to make kindergarten a positive, enriching experience that will instill a lifelong love of learning.

My Project

Kindergartners need to experience school as a colorful, active learning adventure. However, this will be nearly impossible without construction paper, crayons, and early childhood pencils. We use paper, pencils and crayons for nearly every learning activity from language arts to science and art to mathematics.

Please help provide my students with these essential learning tools.
