This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

If there is one thing kindergarters needs plenty of, it is crayons! Students use crayons across the curriculum. During math, they illustrate simple number stories and draw charts. During literacy, they supplement their writing with illustrations. For example, my students just wrote a few sentences about things they like to do when it snows and drew pictures of those activities.

Of course, crayons are a main stay of our art activities.

I am requesting an enormous box of crayons with basic colors that we use the most. I will also be able to send crayons home with those students whose parents cannot afford to buy them. In addition, we could use pencils to make it to the end of the school year. Birthday crowns are a must in any kindergarten classroom. Thanks very much.
