My students left school on our last day together with nothing more than their computers and a WiFi hotspot. The amount of art supplies they have at home is sparse which makes it incredibly difficult to create and make art.
My Project
I teach art so I have all the kids in our elementary school, all 570 of them. Distance learning has been incredibly difficult because most of my students do not have art supplies at home. We have gotten creative and have tried to use found objects to make things but it’s not the same and the kids know it. Participation is down and finding ways to motivate my students to create has been difficult. I am hoping to provide them with as many supplies as possible to help bring some kind of normalcy to these difficult times.
