Help me give my students blended crash cymbals to make our front ensemble's rolls sound like a million bucks! Quality cymbals are quite expensive, but they are an investment for years and don't depreciate value.

My Students
Yearly, I teach two percussion ensemble classes with a total of 25 students, and then 3 steel drums classes with a total of 60-70 students. The steel drum ensemble has students at a variety of different levels, some who have played steel drums for 3 years, others who have never played a musical instrument. The percussion ensemble classes have highly skilled students that work on advanced techniques and repertoire fit to serve them should they continue studying percussion in college. The students are extremely eager to learn, and there is a tangible feeling of momentum in all the classes. After a successful first 3 years, the students are beginning to understand what they are musically capable of!
My Project
One of the most important roles in a front ensemble is to help the band sound their best using creative cymbal combinations. In the marching band, ensemble suspended rolls create a blended sound that helps elevate the excitement leading to a "hit" or full ensemble passage. They also mask the attack and releases from the wind players, creating the illusion of a constant sound.
Just like a single prop or a costume, cymbals may seem insignificant on their own, but in the right context make the band come alive.
Help us contribute as a percussion section to a mature ensemble sound using the appropriate tools for the job!
