My Students
My music is best understood by children and animals.

Ah, music. A magic beyond all we do here!
~J. K. Rowling~
I teach at a Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school located on a military base in Texas.
My school is a Title 1 school, 98% of my students have one or both parents military and a majority are deployed. Also because of the military I receive students all throughout the year.
My Project
The resources I am asking for are craft sticks, pipe cleaners, dry erase markers, and regular markers. The craft sticks will be used to help the students to write rhythms in other ways than pencil and paper. The pipe cleaners are also another way to help those tactile learners how to make different music symbols and notes. The dry erase markers are for the student white boards that are in my classroom, which eliminates the need for paper and pencil. The regular markers will be used to bring my classes together and work together as a class identifying different music symbols and different notations.
These are supplies that will be needed throughout the year to increase differentiation in my classes.
These supplies are being used to help decrease the use of pencil and paper. The ability to differentiate learning in the music classroom through all the different aspects of instruments, centers, classwork, and singing games is something that I strive to learn each and every day.
