Crafts For All!

My students need construction paper, messy mats, paint brushes, paint, scissors, and felt pieces.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Topp's classroom raised $219

This project is fully funded

Crafts are a great way to help express the thoughts and ideas of students with limited communication skills. Students in our room range from 16 to 21 years of age and are at different levels of development. Craft projects promote learning and enhance fine motor skills for students of all ages and levels.

We use craft projects to teach many skills such as following directions, directional words, counting, and fine motor. We are limited to crafts that we have supplies for. Many craft projects get started and then we have to wait until we can get supplies to finish the craft. Some crafts we haven't been able to do because we don't have the supplies to complete them.

Having these supplies will make it easier for students to participate at their level. At this point in time craft supplies have had to settle into several different containers and areas of the room. The cart will allow us to put all craft supplies in a central area that all students will be able to reach and operate. The supplies we need include construction paper, messy mats, paint brushes, paint, and felt pieces will give us different media to use when completing projects. The low temp hot glue gun will allow some students to use it without getting burned. The training scissors will allow staff to help students cut paper using scissors that look like everyone else's.

Allowing the students to be as independent as possible and seeing them achieve it is the best part of my day. With your help, students will be able to become more independent, participate with their peers, and improve their skills.
