My Students
My class is in a public Montessori school serving children in K3 through 8th grade. In our 1st through 3rd grade classroom, we focus on academic and practical life skills that children need to be successful. The children in my class are creative, thoughtful, and curious, always interested in learning something new!
My students are creative, caring, enthusiastic learners who are beginning to understand their special place in our world.
I want them to develop a curiosity that allows them to appreciate all that Montessori education has to offer!
My Project
My students have been attending virtual school for over a year now. We recently learned that students will have the option of returning to class when we come back from Spring Break. I want to provide my students with materials that will allow them to create normalcy and community while working with their hands and following up on previous lessons.
Not only is handwork an important part of the Montessori philosophy, it will allow the students to talk and share while creating beautiful work and building our community.
Students have missed each other terribly and need time to reconnect with each other in our classroom. Incorporating art, crafts, and handwork into our social time will be a wonderful way to allow students to reconnect with each other and our space.
