This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Title I School with limited funding for extra materials. In the language classroom, we are considered an academic elective and we focus heavily on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Spanish and French.
The craft materials will allow our students to create personal art that connects to the culture we study in class.
As a department, we host Cultural Craft Days where students get a class period to create their own cultural product that they can take home with them. For many students, these can be the only crafty products they have created since elementary school.
