Cozy Up With a Movie Over Winter Break!

My Project

The goal of this project is to let our students know doing what you are supposed to in school, showing up, and going above and beyond is seen and appreciated. Building strong relationships with students is extremely effective at increasing their motivation to engage in learning. Students' motivation is further enhanced when they see value in the endeavor, feel they can succeed, do not perceive obstacles, and are able to maintain a positive emotional state.

Incentives for students, such as the throw blankets, can motivate them to be more productive because they create a feeling of pride and achievement.

This also shows students that teachers and other staff in the building notice their good behavior even when the student believes no one is looking. Students who perceive their teachers as caring have a better sense of belonging in school and tend to show more progress when it comes to learning. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate.

This incentive is for students who have earned enough PBIS points. Before winter break students will be given their reward. This reward can also be shared with the student's family which can be an opportunity to spend time together and have a positive interaction.
