Cozy Up With a Good Book

My Students

My students come from very diverse backgrounds and have very diverse needs. Many of my students are on the autism spectrum, and suffer from anxiety. All of my students spend much of their day in a self-contained class. This is their very introduction to a school environment, and we aim to make it as exciting and wonderful as possible as we begin creating that love of learning.

In October of this year, our area suffered a great tragedy when we took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael, one of the largest hurricanes to ever hit the US.

We have come together in the aftermath to rebuild bigger and better present and future for our students. We will continue to grow stronger and show the world we are FL STRONG.

My Project

My students are getting a new old school room, and we want to make it fresh. We have been working all summer to get the structure ready, and now we are filling it up. The windows need dressing, and the reading area needs... it all.

Everyone loves to cuddle up and read, so we need new seating to make our reading area a welcoming place we cant wait to visit.

I am hoping to get a wide variety of seating options so that our readers who want to lounge can, those who want quiet will have it, and those who like to just sit and hang out... you guessed it, will have that too.
