Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are third through fifth graders who are full of energy. As the guidance counselor, students come to me individually, in small groups and for whole class sessions.
The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this past year, and are not only surviving, but thriving in this very different environment.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over eight hundred students in our school!
We have a large population of English language learners. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!
My Project
My students have been working so hard this year. They have grown to love reading and have built stamina in their independent reading times.
These awesome chairs will give my students the chance to relax and read.
These chairs are perfect as they can be wiped clean after use to keep our students healthy. They are comfortable at the same time.
Students work so hard and need to be afforded opportunities to relax and read for enjoyment, as well as their social emotional health.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
