This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The classroom rug serves as a central hub for various educational activities, facilitating both academic and social-emotional development. Its soft, defined space encourages students to gather for group discussions, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. This environment supports inclusive learning by accommodating diverse needs and promoting engagement through interactive and tactile experiences.

The primary goal is to create a nurturing and structured environment where students can develop essential social-emotional skills and engage in meaningful learning experiences.

By providing a designated space for discussions and collaborative activities, the project aims to enhance student focus, participation, and overall well-being.

Our student body is notably diverse, with 67% identifying as English Language Learners (ELLs). Over half of the students come from households where English is not the primary language, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of the community. This diversity enriches the learning environment, offering unique perspectives and fostering a dynamic, inclusive classroom culture.
