This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A kindergarten classroom should have an inviting and warm environment to make the students feel comfortable,especially since, kindergarten is the very first experience of school for many students. That is why I am asking for your support in purchasing a carpet for our classroom.

I am privileged to teach kindergarten students.

They are eager and excited to learn. My students attend a large public school and many come from low income households. Most of the students receive free lunch and also qualify for free after school programs. Half the students are learning English as a second language and are attending school for the first time. They don't have many opportunities to participate in academically enriching activities outside of my classroom.

My Project

I have moved to a new school this year and I am working on creating a warm and inviting environment for my students to learn and enjoy being in school. The library area has no carpet and for now they have to sit on the cold tile floor or bring in their chair from their desk. With your support, I could turn this small place into an inviting learning corner with a carpet that builds basic skills! The children will be able to sit in a cozy reading area to read a book or just point to the different crayons and practice their oral language. In addition, the carpet comes with a guide filled with skill-building activity ideas!

Your help will ensure that my students have an inviting learning environment.

The "Learn Your Colors Activity Carpet" will provide an area for my students to sit and read books for many years to come. Please invest in the future of my students so they may become the leaders of tomorrow!
