This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are avid readers, even as middle schoolers. I want to embrace their love for reading by creating an inviting space in our classroom library and throughout the room. We have limited furniture and spaces to get comfortable while getting lost in a book. This addition of lounge chairs to our classroom will really motivate students to relax and read, which can be difficult to do with this age group.
This will also allow me to begin to donate our milk crates and tattered pillows that have sufficed as our "reading area."
Although this is just the start to our "furniture makeover," we would greatly appreciate your help!
