About Our Classroom:
My 4th-grade class is full of curious, creative, and hard-working students who love diving into new books and exploring the world around them through ELA and science.
Our school recently launched an exciting One Book, One School program, providing every student with the same book to foster a sense of community and shared learning. We also dedicate 20 minutes each day to independent reading, encouraging students to develop a lifelong love for books. My students are incredibly special—they come from diverse backgrounds, including some who are learning English as a new language, and they all bring unique strengths and perspectives to our classroom.
I want to create a cozy, inviting space where students feel comfortable while they read, learn, and collaborate. These floor pillows will give them the freedom to settle into a spot that feels just right for them, whether they’re working on a science project or discussing a story in their book clubs. Providing this comfort will help students stay focused and show them that reading can be a relaxing and enjoyable activity.
Our Goals:
• Foster a love for reading by creating a welcoming environment for independent reading time.
• Encourage students to collaborate and engage more deeply in book clubs and science activities by providing flexible seating options.
• Show students that their comfort and well-being matter in their learning journey.
My Students are Amazing:
They’re eager to learn, resilient in the face of challenges, and supportive of one another. Many of them face obstacles outside of school, and I want to ensure our classroom is a safe, comfortable place where they feel valued and inspired. These pillows will help us build that sense of comfort and community while encouraging them to embrace the joy of reading and learning.
