Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing, resilient English Language Learners who come from low-income households. Many of them are learning English while also navigating challenges at home and in their communities. They deserve a safe, calm, and welcoming space where they can fall in love with reading.

I’m hoping to create a cozy reading corner in our classroom with soft bean bag chairs that invite students to relax, focus, and engage with books.

For many of my students, this will be the first time they experience reading for pleasure in a calm and comfortable setting.

In addition to the reading area, I’m also requesting basic classroom supplies like **pencils and glue sticks**. These items may seem small, but they make a huge difference. Many of my students can’t afford to bring their own supplies throughout the year, and having extras on hand ensures that no one falls behind due to lack of materials.

With your support, we can build a classroom where students feel comfortable, cared for, and ready to succeed both academically and emotionally.
