This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in a diverse learner, pre-k program which means they are diagnosed with a variety of learning disabilities, autism and/or Down syndrome. My students enjoy the library area and enjoy flipping through our books and making connections with their worlds. Although many are non-verbal, they understand that words have meaning and letters have a name.

Many of them are visual learners and having their classroom filled with literacy knowledge will motivate them to learn in a variety of ways.

Adding an alphabet area rug will encourage them to sit, stand and immerse themselves in our books!
