Help me give my students more flexible seating in the library, fidget tools, and book bags to support organization and improve returning books on time.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students love curling up with a good book. During independent reading time many students want to use flexible seating in the library.
Please help my students have more flexible seating options so all students can find a quiet space to read.
Fidget tools will support student focus during whole group library lessons. The benefits of fidget tools are numerous including allowing students to channel excess energy into a constructive low distraction activity, offering stress relief, and providing a calming effective for all students including those with sensory and processing needs.
My K-5 grade students come into the library with a variety of exceptionalities and numerous ways to be smart. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they see new flexible seating options and fidget tools.
Additional items in this project will help facilitate lessons both in and out of the library, and support student organization and responsibility when checking out and returning books.
