This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books and cozy reading materials will transform our classroom into a vibrant, student-centered learning space. Diverse, high-interest books will help students see themselves reflected in what they read and open windows into new perspectives, boosting both comprehension and empathy. A well-stocked library fosters literacy skills, builds vocabulary, and encourages independent reading all key factors in academic success.

The addition of cushions and a cozy reading corner creates a welcoming environment where students feel safe, calm, and eager to read.

When students are physically comfortable, they are more likely to focus, stay engaged, and develop a lifelong love of learning. These touches turn our classroom into a place where learning feels joyful, meaningful, and deeply personal.

What makes my students special is their incredible resilience, curiosity, and kindness. They come to school each day eager to learn and grow, even when faced with challenges. They support one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and bring a unique spark to our classroom community. They deserve a space that reflects how special they are one that inspires them to dream big and see themselves as readers, thinkers, and leaders
