Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a mini United Nations. In my classroom children from diverse backgrounds. They work together using English to learn, help each other, and play. Our community is multicultural as well as multi-linguistic community. Our families speak, aside from English, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Arab, Somali and other African Asian languages. My school is a Title 1 funded with 100percent free lunch for all students.

Students come ready to learn.

We expect and practice HI 5 values, respect, responsibility, and confidence. We provide a dance curriculum for K-1 students and music for our fifth graders.

My students love to do science, listen to stories, and read at their favorite spot in the classroom, the library.

My goal is to get students to love reading more than I do, to get then interested in science because scientists are the world's innovators, and to love learning with passion.

My Project

Books are my passion. My students need a comfortable place were to read for enjoyment. A bean bag or a soft pillow will be a delightful place to read. Bean bags and pillow are also flexible and light. Students will be able to adjust their body to different positions.

A cozy library will be their favorite spot.

I want to instill in my students the habit of reading. Our cozy library could a spot for academic improvement as well as a therapeutic release. I hope that the habit of reading turns into desire to read any where anytime and that it will carry to their families.

I want to transfer to my students my love, my desire of reading, in the most coziest way possible. Thanks
